Moving Over to the Dark Side Episode 2

I just did 1 bloody tutorial today. What a damn waste of time. Exams in less than a week and i still know nuts! I am really screwed! I really wished i was working now..........but the irony is, once i start working, i might just be heading straight back into books! Anyway, the dark side has almost won me over. I hear Darth Vader calling me...............

Yes Master! I shall not study and help u conquer Battlefield 2!

Moving over to the Dark Side

Bloody hell! Already i haven't been studying for my exams next week! For my camera to perform miserably during my tour of the Star Wars exhibition was pretty much like kick to the groin. Things haven't been going well lately. Studies seems down the drain. At this rate, I'll be happy getting a 10/100 for all my papers. Should be doing something about that soon. Anyway, this damn camera doesn't work well when it's flash function is off. It doesn't have anti-shake function which makes it all the more worse so almost all my pictures in there looked blurred! Arrrrgghhh!!!!!!I want a digital SLR but i have no idea what to buy or what function i need or don't! Need to do research and talk to more people.............

Alien Discrimination

It is a conspiracy i tell you! This is completely absurd! There should be some law which protects us aliens! How can they kick us out even after we've won!!!!

17 team winners.........1 team kicked out and they kicked out the only alien team. It obviously brings new meaning to the phrase, "We've been alienated!"

Bought my P-plate today! Drove around Woodlands and Sembawang! Even did reverse parking......even though i cheated a little as there were no cars in the lots beside mine. Anyway dug up this old photo i took when i went to the zoo with my dearie.

I used to think polar bears were 'cool' to watch when i was younger but check this poor bear out. They shouldn't put a damn polar bear in the equator! Look at how badly burnt it is. It is totally not made for Singapore's weather (actually so am i). Pretty soon, it's going to look like the Malayan Sun Bear. My gf loves the zoo but i have never been a fan. Seeing how this polar bear was treated and the elephants too............has left a tinge of sadness in my heart. If any of you have seen the elephant shows or taken the rides, you would notice the zookeepers holding this hook-like weapon of sorts. The edges of these weapons look sharp mind you!

Keep the animals but just don't harm them. Keep the animals, as long as the animals are made for Singapore's tropical weather. (Damn polar bears and sea lions belong in the North pole/South pole......anywhere but here). But i guess as long as people continue visiting the zoo, it is going to be status quo for time to come.

It has been a long time since I've posted anything here and just about anything and everything has happened since then. I cannot recall feeling so many ups and downs in my life as how i have felt this week. So many things to say......I don't know where to begin.

Well, beginning of the week: 05122005

In the morning, we had a whacking session by Mr Toh. He basically did what he always does whenever he sees up. Whack.......demand the impossible.......give some out of sync ideas.......then leave us stranded. Anyway, he told us that we got through the Spinnovex Selection process which was conducted by him and Ivan Ho. Talk about being impartial! Of course only us and Ivan's project groups got through, they were the judges......DUH! Maybe the other projects weren't that good but i don't think it is fair to have them to judge. Can't they get a neutral lecturer. I am not saying that it is their fault but the upper management should have looked into the repercussion that it could have on the school and the students. Sometimes, I wonder if all this effort is worth the trouble. If it were left to me, I wouldn't even bother. CAAS doesn't require me to get an A for my project. But when i look at my classmates, I can't even think of giving up coz we are a team and all of us has put in a lot into this project. I can't let my classmates down just because I don't feel like getting an A for this project. Anyway, Toh told us that this week is going to be a big week for us with photo taking and Spinnovex Highlighted Selection to take place.

My classmates signed me up for EEE basketball competition. Things started well. We won the first game (albeit through a walkover). Not so easy for the 2nd game though. We were annihilated! Hahaha! I made a HUGE contribution by playing for 2 minutes. Needless to say, we let in most of the points when i was playing, i guess!

2nd day of the week: 06122005

We stayed back late today to finish up preparing the project for Wednesday's photo taking. We painted the heli's cover and the Spitfire. I thought it was rather nice looking and it would look even better after it's completed. Anyway, for my team's project, we decided to cheat a little since the photo taking didn't require our project to work. So we put a dummy board, scotch tape the sensors on board and WALAH! A completed project!

Our newly painted Spitfire. With a little photoshop help of course!

3nd day of the week: 07122005

Today we all had to wear smart formal for the photo taking. What they didn't bloody tell us was that they were only taking the project photos with 1 or 2 representatives! Fucking hell! 14 monkeys wearing long sleeves and tie just to stand around doing nothing! Check these following monkeys out!

Wednesday was also my dearie's birthday! I didn't do anything special for her this year coz i am too busy. So sorry dearie! So sorry i also finished most of the cake i bought for u also! Hehehe! Hope u liked the thingy i made for u!

4th day of the week: 08122005

For today, we only stayed back late to perfect the programming for the Highlighted project selection on Friday. Things don't look so good up till now.

5th day of the week: 09122005

Today is the big day! It started off badly though. When the directors came in, some of us were at the foodcourt having breakfast. Luckily, we were just chatting around. We made it to 1722 and were we lucky that Ivan's group went first. From what i heard, their group were getting a tough time with the directors! We were getting very bloody nervous! Then came our turn. I was just hoping and praying that Jiawei was able to control the damn heli coz we had been trying hard to get it to work and it didn't work well for us till then. It was a miracle that Jiawei managed to control the heli very well. It was made even more special coz our program and sensor work well for the first time. I was so damn relieved when the directors left coz it was like make or break time for our group. I was glad that my group managed to pull it off. From the looks of it, we have a 50-50 chance of making it for Highlighted. Anyway, Toh pulled us aside after the whole thing and guess what.........more work! It all seems never ending. My studies are suffering........projects not going well......it seems nothing is going according to plan.

6th day of the week: 10122005

Today is the biggest day of them all. My TP test! Woke up super early at 6 just so that i won't be late for my warm-up and my test. Reached the centre and entered the Waiting room. No one there. Then a chinese girl entered. Sat side by side, silent. Then i asked her.....
"First time?"
Girl: "No......This is my 2nd time"
Me: " You look nervous. Actually, me too!"
Girl: "Only both of us huh?"
Me: "I guess."
If you guys didn't know better, this conversation sounds more like a ......................................

Anyway, warm-up went ok with no major mistakes. Was led upstairs where i had to wait for the tester. There was another girl there with me. Again silence. I was like checking her out with her figure hugging clothes, big boobs and big ass when she talked to me! Wow! Am i lucky or what today! This girl was a Malay girl but she was speaking to me with an English accent so I reciprocated. She was taking as a private candidate so that's y I didn't see her earlier. Just when we getting comfortable with each other, the damn tester came. Bloody idiots couldn't just wait another 10 minutes. We first had to draw lots to see which tester we got and also which test route.
My tester was this fierce looking fellow who showed quite an attitude. Everything started well till I reached the directional change with ramp. I reversed without looking behind. I just looked at the rear view mirror and he started mumbling to himself. Started writing on the paper. Started to get nervous. Went out on the road. Bloody traffic. Getting more nervous. Thankfully everything went quite smoothly. Was getting excited coz finishing soon.
Him: Park in the yellow box.
Me: Ok
Him: Are u sure u in the yellow box!??!
Me: Yes
Him: U unbuckle and get of the check and check!
Me: *Did as told* Oppss!
Him: *Got out and mumbled to himself* Follow me.
At this point I was blur and scared. I thought he would fail me coz of this stupid mistake. I haven't even switch off the car engine. Went back quickly to switch off engine and followed him to debriefing room. He ticked a few boxes, told me my mistakes and he ticked the PASSED column! Woohoo!!! I thanked him i dunno how many times till i think he sian. when i went out i saw the malay girl and asked her if she passed. Unfortunately she didn't. Had to do a little admin stuff and watch a video before i got to leave. Met the chinese girl and found out that she passed. Her name was Hui hui. I felt sad coz i didn't get the Malay girl's name or her number. Damn! Anyway, gotta find a car to drive!
