What a great day for slacking today. Left school super early today as class ended at about 1130h. I still haven't figured out a better title for my blog and for now, I shall stick with Battlefield 21st Century. If any of you out there has a better idea, do drop me a mail. My darling has a dinner of sorts which is organized by her school this evening. Which bloody dinner starts at 1900hrs and ends at 0000hrs. 5 bloody freaking hours long. Anyway....she has been saying how nice it would be if I could fetch her all over Singapore after I get my driving license. HAHAHA!! She wish! She has also commented why I have not posted her picture on my blog, so here it is..........
Next part of today's blog will be a tribute to my hero who played his heart out for Manchester United for the past 13 years. It came as a shock to me when I chanced upon this article on ESPN's soccernet website and I thought it was a joke at first. Then it dawned on me that I was never going to see Keane in a Man U shirt playing competitively again. A tear was shed. Somehow, I felt that it was time that he went coz I feel that this current Man U team is dragging his name through the mud. I don't think this team is good enough to win the Premiership, what more the Champions League!
This guy has shed his blood for the club and this is the thanks he got. Most Man U supporters would agree that his recent comments were fully justifiable. This team just hasn't been playing to it's potential! If he hadn't made his comments at that time, I think that Chelsea would have kicked their ass. Instead, the team got so fired up with his comments that they pulled off an amazing victory and even played some good football I might say.
Ferguson, for me has lost it. He no longer has that aura around him and I feel the club is wrong in not replacing him. I just do not see it in his face nowadays., the desire, the passion, the will to be the best in the business. The club is just keeping him for sentimental reasons and in doing so, he is dragging the club down with him. Of course, he had brought some wonderful memories to us over the past decade or so and he was duly "rewarded" with the recognition he deserved during those times but Man U has been faltering these past 3 years and there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel with Fergie at the helm.
I really don't see the value that players such as John O' Shea, Darren Fletcher brings. Experienced players such as Rio, Scholes, Ruud have also been found wanting and have not shown the desire to win matches and sometimes it just sucks to watch them play. Alan smith is played out of position and occasionally so is Rooney. Fergie has lost it and it is time for him to leave so that someone new could take over. Someone like Keane. But never will that day come as long as Ferguson is on board so all I can say is, Farewell Keane and may you find more success in your new club. Thanks for all the great years of service and you will live in our hearts forever!
